I'm no "technie"... do use fundamentals, but as references only. Broad-based research and considerations include:

1) Business type
2) Company's profitability trend
3) Transaction volumes
4) Market Sentiments (Includes local and overseas indices)
5) Economic news
6) Stock responses & degree of response to general market trends
7) Companies' announcements
8) Broking houses' recommendations (Need to be open-minded)

I do like no. 6 :) all these u mention are very important,but how about the price to trade?

Previous highs / lows holds little importance, especially when market volatility is high. However, I do appreciate that price levels can be deemed as support or resistance points from technical point of view.

Trading / Investing is simply too complex to follow rules rigidly. For example, market depth of stocks can only gain credibility after periods of close obervation due to presence of "fake queues or dubious transactions".

In addition, pple believe that stock market is 6 to 9 months forward-looking when compared to the economy. My opinion is that this timeframe maybe applicable only in a bull market. In the current bear market, it should be halved at the very least...
